The illustrations provided by Cathy Ann Johnson are beautiful. The end of the book states that light is actually seen within yourself. This can be seen on a leaf floating in the wind, loving embraces from friends and family, and a turtle dove and butterfly enjoying a flight in the sky. But the reader can see that there are many things that provide another kind of light. This includes how the sun brightens the day, how a star twinkles in the sky, and how a firefly glows inside a jar. This book features a rhythmic text that begins with things that actually provide some light.

I love any children’s book about positivity and learning to truly appreciate the special things in life that create “light”.
